Frequently Asked Questions

When are you open?

We are open every week from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 and 17:00.

Can I get pierced with previously-worn jewellery?

No. Previously-worn jewellery, even when disinfected and sterilized, poses additional risks during healing. Once worn, jewellery is covered in an impossible-to-remove biofilm that could lead to infection in a fresh piercing. Previously-worn jewellery is also likely to have nicks and scratches on the wearable surface which could harbour dangerous bacteria. We want to give you the best possible chance at healing your piercing safely, and in order to do that, we cannot pierce with previously-worn jewellery.

Can I just come in for a piercing?

Sometimes. We recommend making an appointment, as that ensures you will be seen, and allows us to budget our time easily throughout the day to help as many clients as possible. Appointments are our priority, so if you walk-in you may have a (sometimes substantial) wait. We value your time, and want to help you as efficiently as possible. Appointment booking is available here.

Can I bring jewellery I bought somewhere else?

No. Ronin Body Arts does not perform fresh piercings with jewellery purchased from outside our studio. This policy exists to maintain our strict jewellery material and construction requirements and to ensure the safety of our clients. We will insert jewellery from elsewhere into a healed piercing, as long as it will fit comfortably, is made of a safe material, and can withstand a sterilization cycle without sustaining damage.

Can I bring friends/family with me into the piercing room?

Absolutely! This is your experience, and we want you to feel as happy and comfortable as possible. We understand the value of moral and emotional support, and we encourage you to bring as many or as few people with you as you wish. As long as everyone in the room is able to maintain a calm, relaxing presence, we are happy to have them. We reserve the right to ask any individual or group to leave the piercing room if their presence is harmful, either to the client’s experience, or to the piercer’s ability to perform their duties. For procedures on minors, Ronin Body Arts requires that a parent or legal guardian be present in the piercing room.

What if I am running late for my appointment?

Please contact us as soon as possible to let us know. If there is an appointment immediately after yours, and you arrive 15 minutes late or more, we will have to treat you as a walk-in client, meaning you may be waiting for some time. This policy exists to ensure that we do not fall behind on every subsequent appointment. Try to give yourself enough time on the day of your appointment. Rushed piercings are not a nice experience. You can always reschedule your appointment as long as you give us 24 hours notice.
